Hey there, I’m Jordan. Since I began writing on the internet about ten years ago, I've been drawn to big ideas: the advancement of artificial intelligence, the colonization of the cosmos, philosophical puzzles, and many more. This led to the creation of Multilarity, a synthesis of two of the most expansive concepts one can contemplate: the Multiverse and the Singularity. Together, these ideas symbolize the endless possibilities of reality.
Reality today…I think we all sense that we stand at a pivotal juncture, one that will shape not only how we connect and organize but also the future of our species and planet. Yet, instead of dedicating thoughtful attention to meaningful ideas, we're like Sisyphus, endlessly trapped in the loop of doomscrolling (I admit, I'm as guilty as anyone). So where do we go from here?
I believe the path forward is to focus our attention on ideas that nurture curiosity and creativity. For Multilarity, that means a continuation of my obsession with big ideas: the Fermi Paradox—where are those elusive aliens? The Hard Problem of Consciousness—what's happening in our minds? The Trolley Problem—which lever should we pull? Musings on media—is the medium really the message? My explorations seem to repeatedly return to intelligence, emergence, and how we come to understand (or misunderstand) the world around us. I'm equally fascinated by the processes of curiosity and creativity themselves, and how they are foundational to personal growth.
Over the past few years, I've immersed myself in generative AI tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney, creating TikTok videos that showcase their applications or use them in storytelling. Initially, purely a writer without experience in design or video editing, these tools unlocked new creative avenues. I firmly believe AI is another tool for human creativity, and thus, will embrace my cyborg nature, collaborating with AI as a partner in the creative process. Just as a gardener chooses the seeds or an architect determines the blueprints, the intention and voice behind everything on Multilarity begins with my mind. AI may assist with things like brainstorming, clarity, flow, grammar — but rest assured, any posts created entirely by AI will be transparently labeled. This combination of human imagination and AI capabilities reflects another step forward in the era of computational writing, following in the footsteps of tools like spell check and Grammarly.
My passion for ideas also extends into fiction and stories, science fiction and fantasy, narratives that use these ideas to express themes and emotion that words alone cannot fully convey. My exploration of ideas has also led me down the rabbit hole of “tools for thought,” leveraging software to document ideas and discover connections between them. Right now I'm obsessed with Obsidian and Are.na, both play a role in my process, alongside charts and visualizations that help bring concepts to life in new ways.
Each of us possesses a unique perspective, a distinct vibe, a personal mission. I believe mine is to connect ideas, bridge perspectives, and make the internet feel impactful, empowering, and magical — to encourage others to embrace their curiosity and find inspiration for creative endeavors. Because ultimately, it's through this that we might navigate the challenges facing our species and shape a future worth living in.
My writing is a continuous journey. I'm no expert, but I am endlessly exploring. I don’t have the answers, but I do seek the questions. I've dedicated years to these topics, and my commitment is to share what excites and inspires me most. When you sign up, you'll receive a mix of content and curation on big ideas — essays, short stories, book reviews, thought experiments, AI dialogues, human dialogues, nonlinear explorations, or interesting links from around the web. It might be weekly, monthly, or more. Over time, I hope to build a community of like-minded individuals. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
